What Are the First Signs of Pregnancy?

The easiest way to know 100% if you’re pregnant is by taking a pregnancy test. However, there are several signs of pregnancy.

If you’re determining whether or not you should buy a pregnancy test or visit Alcove Health for a free pregnancy test.

7 Early Early Pregnancy Symptoms to Watch For:

  1. Missed Period – If you’re more than 10 days late after unprotected sex, it may be time to take a test. Learn how to handle a missed period.

  2. Nausea or Morning Sickness – Morning sickness varies from a light sense of nausea to regular vomiting throughout the day. This is one of the most common pregnancy symptoms.

  3. Fatigue – Needing a nap to get through the day may be a sign of pregnancy. Fatigue occurs when your body’s hormones begin to change, tiring out your body

  4. Tender or Swollen Breasts – Again, as hormones change your body, your breasts may feel more sensitive.

  5. Frequent Urination – Going to the bathroom multiple times a day could be an early sign of pregnancy.

  6. Mood Changes – If your body is going through hormonal adjustments, your mood is sure to follow. From being more energized to feeling depressed, you may feel like you’re going crazy. Take a deep breath!

  7. Light Spotting or Cramping – If you’ve experienced cramping about 10 – 14 days after a missed period, you may be pregnant. The process of implantation is when the fertilized egg attaches to the uterus.

Have you ever wondered how early you can feel pregnancy symptoms? Some symptoms, like fatigue or breast tenderness, can show up within 1 to 2 weeks of unprotected sex. But the only way to know for sure is by taking a test. Not every woman experiences the same signs.

When Should You Take a Pregnancy Test?

Some tests can detect pregnancy as early as 10 days after sex, but results are most accurate 21 days after a missed period. You can buy a test at most stores or get a free one at Alcove Health.
