Hard question for someone facing an unplanned pregnancy. How you answer the question will make a huge difference in how you think about your options. Some women will bring their religious beliefs into the equation. They might consult the Bible, the Quran, or some other religious text to bring understanding. Others might simply search their memories to recall how they were raised or what they’ve always believed about the issue. Still, others will take their cue from our current culture. What does their favorite Instagrammer say about this subject?
Consider this: In this country, at this present time, it is illegal for someone to take the life of an unborn child if the woman carrying the child wants to keep it. On the other hand, it is perfectly legal for someone to end the life of that child if the pregnant woman gives him or her permission. In the first scenario, if the woman and her unborn child are murdered, it is a double homicide. In the second, the abortion doctor is not only free of any crime but he is paid for his services by the woman. So, in a real sense the question, “Is My Baby a Person?” really must be faced first and foremost by the woman with the unplanned pregnancy.
