Read MoreThe first day of your last menstrual period, also known as LMP, will be something that doctors and nurses will discuss throughout your pregnancy.
“What’s so important about my LMP?”
Many pregnant women aren’t sure of the actual date of conception (when the egg was fertilized). Unless you are charting your cycle each month, it can be very difficult to pinpoint the specific date. If a woman knows the date of her LMP, it can give an estimated range of when she likely conceived. Why? The typical menstrual cycle (from period to period) lasts about 28 days, and ovulation usually occurs around day 14. Knowing the date of your LMP helps the doctor reasonably estimate the date you conceived and assists in determining your due date.
Are you pregnant and don’t know what to do next? We offer free consultations and free ultrasounds, which are especially helpful when you’re unsure of your conception date. Schedule your free and confidential appointment HERE.
Common questions about your Conception Date:
These are not uncommon questions. In fact, you might be surprised by how many women have irregular menstrual cycles or don’t remember when their last period was. If this is you, don’t panic!
Ultrasounds are another very helpful and accurate way to determine estimated due dates. Early on in pregnancy, fetal development is fairly standard. An ultrasound can determine how far along you are based on the size of the fetus.
Even if you don’t know the date of your LMP, Alcove Health can confirm your pregnancy with a lab quality pregnancy test and perform an ultrasound, at no cost, to help determine how far along you are and what your estimated due date is. You deserve medically-evidenced information to make the best decision for your reproductive health.
“When is my due date?”
You can also calculate your due date using the Last Menstrual Period method. Knowing this information will help you know how far along you are in your pregnancy. Schedule your free appointment to get this information and an ultrasound for free. That’s right, we offer help and resources for your pregnancy decision and we have nothing to sell you.
