Looking for infant formula? Not sure who to call? Let us help. Part of our material needs services include connections with community partners – like those who can help with infant formula.
We’d like to share a little bit about some free resources.
The Women Infant and Children program is a federal program that provides grants for states to be able to provide support for moms and babies across the United States. The support comes in the form of supplemental food allowances, nutrition education, breastfeeding support, and health care referrals.
The food allowance can be used to buy infant formula and other nutritional food items. For more information click HERE or call the local WIC office or your local health department. You can also submit a contact form HERE.
Another local source for infant formula is the Family Engagement Services – Pregnancy and Parent Support program. This program is part of Catholic Charities of Eastern Virginia and provides free diapers and formula. The program also offers baby supplies, parenting education, an economic stabilization program, and a mentorship program for women. You can find more information by clicking the link HERE.
According to Parents.com, parents can also get free infant formula samples by signing up for programs with formula manufacturers. For example, the Enfamil Family Beginnings offers free formula samples, cash back rebates, discount checks and digital rebates, and a rewards program that lets you earn points to redeem for free items (learn more and join HERE). Similac has a similar program called MySimilac Rewards which offers formula coupons and other rewards (learn more and join HERE).

Here is another suggestion. Have you ever heard of the Free Formula Exchange? It’s a free mutual aid network that allows parents across the Unites States to network with each other to donate or receive infant formula.
How does it work? Great question! It’s really easy to get set up. Here’s what you do. Go to the website at https://freeformula.exchange/. Right across the top, you’ll see an option that says, “Get Started” or “Request Formula.” It doesn’t cost you anything but the time it takes to sign up.
And if you’re pregnant and trying to think ahead, it’s also a good idea to include baby formula on your baby registry. In fact, it’s not a bad idea to add infant formula to your holiday wish list.
