As a Registered Nurse, I know there are 3 medical questions you should first have answered to ensure your safety:

          Is the pregnancy in the uterus?
          Is there a heartbeat – is the pregnancy viable?
          How far along am I in the pregnancy?

It’s important to answer these questions before you go to the abortion clinic because the answers will help determine if an abortion is medically indicated and safe for you. The answers will also help you determine which abortion services are available to you.

Then, once you know the answer to those important medical questions, it’s time for you to ask yourself a few more questions.

2. Do I understand the abortion procedure options?
3. What is the motivation behind this decision for me?
4. Who will support me in my decision?
5. What choice is most consistent with my values?
6. Have I thought about how this decision will affect me long term?

8. Is this the right decision for me?
9. What are the pros and cons of having an abortion?
