If no one told you, there is no birth control that is 100% effective (besides abstinence). Even with using it, there is still a chance of pregnancy. So, you could ultimately experience an unexpected positive pregnancy test leading you to ask:
What am I going to do about this pregnancy?
There are a lot of reasons why a woman would want to talk to someone about an unexpected – or maybe even planned – pregnancy. It’s a lot. Pregnancy comes with a wide variety of emotions and those are all valid.
Remember, just because you are emotional doesn’t mean you are irrational.
Some of us don’t have the privilege of having a trusted person to talk to or we would rather talk to a person we don’t know. No matter what, you deserve the space to process your thoughts, feelings, and emotions while you figure out what to do about this pregnancy.
At Alcove Health Women’s Clinic, we provide that space for women (and, their partners) to process their pregnancies. Common reasons women come to Alcove Health to figure out “what to do about this pregnancy” include:
Whatever your reason is, there is no judgement. If you relate to any of the above, then Alcove Health is the place for you! Our trained client advocates and registered nurses will walk with you every step of the way as you get the services you need to plan what to do with this pregnancy. Our goal is not to get you in and out, it’s to provide medical services, listen, and offer resources & information where we can.
What we provide:
Because we genuinely care about ALL of you. That’s why we’re here. We want you to have all the information you need to make an informed decision about what to do about this pregnancy.
Your next steps are up to you, but we provide you with all the information you need to make your decisions with confidence.
It’s possible that you may return for another appointment – typically a follow-up ultrasound – but that decision is made by a nurse based on her assessment. Otherwise, our team will check in with you to see how things are going and whether you need any additional support, pregnancy-related or not.
